There are different types of plungers with different uses that helps unblock drain. Chances are you’re using the red rubber plunger when unblocking all types of drains which sometimes it does not resolve the issue. There’s a specific plunger for every type of sink or drain.
Below are the differences of each plunger and explain their use:
- Common Sink Plunger
Common Sink Plunger also known as Cup Plunger, which is commonly used in households. The handle is made of wood and a rubber cup at the end.
It’s advisable to use this type of plunger on the flat surface such as kitchen sink, bathroom sink, tub, or anything that has a flat surface.
- Toilet Plunger
It has the same feature as the sink plunger. The only difference is that it has foldable rubber inside the cup. This can be used to both toilets and kitchen sink since it has a flexible design that it fits in any type of drain. However, we don’t recommend that you use both as it will lead to cross contamination.
- Accordion Plunger
In addition to the toilet plunger, you can use Accordion Plunger to unblock the toilet drain. Please note that it’s hard to use as it requires a lot of force but more effective in unblocking toilet drain. Recommended for toilet drain only.
So there you have it. The next time you unblock the sink, make sure that you’re using the right plunger.
