How to Eliminate Awful Sink Odour

Nope, no no no. it is not what you are thinking. You got the wrong culprit. It is not your trash bin, it is your sink that smells. Yes, I am sure about that. I bet you have already changed the bag in the bin, washed them thoroughly but the smell still there, right? Then you tried it in your refrigerator, you cleaned it and closed it but it is still there, right?  You even sprayed air freshener but the smell is getting worst each day.

The kitchen sink is the entrance of all the food waste to the drain and garbage disposal. Then, the garbage disposal shreds, ash, and chops the food that enters in the device. It washes crumbs, however, it also collects and stores the debris that lingers an odour. Over time, this food debris will rot giving your kitchen an awful odour. Worst, bacterias will start to build up in the disposal and you can inhale this, which is a health risk.

Here are the steps that will help eliminate awful sink odour:

Step 1: Pour 1 cup of baking soda and another 1 cup of pure white vinegar down the drain. Let it sit for not less than 10 minutes.

Step 2: Pour a hot water down the drain to flush the baking soda and pure white vinegar solution.

If you have a garbage disposal, follow these last two steps, however, the last step can also be followed if you desire.

Step 3: Fill the drain with 2 cups of ice cubes mixed with 1 cup of salt. Turn on the cold water system and turn on the garbage disposal until the ice is gone. This will help the gunk and dirt off the drain blades.

Step 4: To deodorize your garbage disposal, peel an orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit or any citrus fruits. Drop the peel rinds down the drain.
